BIRA-IASB database and user interface for stratospheric aerosols

What is this all about?

The aim of the present site is to provide an easy access to various data related to stratospheric aerosol. Datasets from different satellite experiments are made available, as well as several derived products, either graphically or as data files.

This project has been initiated in the frame of the DAEDALUS project, and is currently extended and improved in the frame of the PROMOTE project, both projects being joined initiatives of the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) in the frame of the "Global Monitoring for Environment and Security" (GMES) in support to the EC 6th Environmental Action Program.

BE AWARE that this website provides data access to authorized users only; this includes notably scientists of the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy as well as PROMOTE participants. You must therefore be registered to be allowed to use the data. If you have not registered yet, please click the 'Register now' button on the left menu.

A 'first steps' user guide

The use of this website is relatively simple and straightforward. If you wish to access data, please click the 'Products' button in the navigation bar on the top of the page. It will allow you to access data by experiment.

Please be aware that the website is in constant evolution, which implies that some options may be unavailable. For more details about recent developments, you may consult the News page, available in short on the side navigation of this page.
